There Is No Such Thing as a “Perfect” Pregnancy

Back to Blog

Pregnancy comes with a lot of expectations — many of them unspoken, but heavy all the same.
From the moment two lines appear, the pressure often begins.

Eat perfectly.
Stay calm.
Glow.
Enjoy every moment.
Feel grateful — always.

But perfection was never realistic. And it was never the goal.

Pregnancy is a time of constant change — physical, emotional, mental. Some days you’ll feel deeply connected to your body and confident in what you’re doing. Other days, you might feel exhausted, anxious, unsure, or completely overwhelmed. You may question yourself, your choices, or even how you should be feeling.

None of that means you’re failing.
None of that means you’re ungrateful.
And none of that means something is wrong with you.

Pregnancy is not a performance to be judged or graded.
It’s a process — unfolding day by day, in its own rhythm.

You are allowed to:

  • Have mixed or conflicting feelings

  • Change your mind as you learn more

  • Ask questions (even the same ones more than once)

  • Rest without guilt

  • Set boundaries

  • Not enjoy every stage of pregnancy

There is no universal checklist for “doing pregnancy right.”
No single emotional script to follow.
No ideal version you need to live up to.

There is only your experience — shaped by your body, your history, your circumstances, and your needs. And that experience is valid, even when it’s messy, uncertain, or quiet.

There is no such thing as a perfect pregnancy.
There is only your way — and that is more than enough.
